About the Institute
As one of Dr. Beckman's alma maters, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign was a clear choice for a location to support an Institute. Arnold and Mabel Beckman worked with Professor Ted Brown to plan this unique venture in multidisciplinary research. Through a collaborative community of faculty, staff and students, the Beckman Institute continues to harness the complexity of molecules, machines and minds to engineer technological innovations that improve human health and secure planetary sustainability.
